In our lab, we apply a very broad range of methods including cellular, molecular biology, microbiology and animal work.

• Cell cultures - primary neuronal, astrocyte and microglia cultures; brain slice cultures; cell lines cultivation
• Molecular biology - DNA manipulation, plasmid construction, mutagenesis, PCR, virus construction, cell transfection and transduction 
  

• Protein biochemistry - Western blot, protein labelling, in vitro tryptophan fluorescence analysis, ELISA, G-LISA
• Microbiology - pathogenic bacteria culturing with focus on Streptococcus pneumoniae and tissue/bacteria co-incubation
  

Core expertise

Our core expertise is in the field of fluorescent live imaging microscopy in cells and tissues, microscopy-based screening approaches and a full spectrum of fluorescence-based imaging techniques - FRAP, FLIP, FRET, FLIM.
